Advertising Analysis of "The Force": Volkswagen
By Peter Coyne
The focus of this analysis is the Volkswagen Ad named "The Force" which was aired during 2011Superbowl. "The Force" runs 1:02 in length telling the quick story of a boy dressed as Darth Vader desperately trying to use the force on his pet and other objects around the house. The "Imperial March Theme" from the Star Wars movies play in the background throughout the commercial.
As the miniature Darth Vader roams the house trying to use the force on his dog, a washer and dryer, a doll, and a sandwich he becomes more and more discouraged and unhappy with the fantasy that he can use the force. Finally his father comes home, driving into the driveway in the new Volkswagen Passat and the son runs out to meet it rushing past his dad to try to use the force on the car. While looking through the window indoors the father uses the keyless ignition to start the car while the boy is trying to use the force outside and surprises the boy who thinks he used the force to start the car. As the boy turns around in disbelief that his fantasy came true the commercial ends with the Volkswagen logo and brief information about the car.

Chrisette released this remix on her new mixtape, Love Thy Brother. Here's what she had to say about it:
“Love Thy Brother is a mixtape that me and my brother, Lem Payne conceptualized and dreamed about doing for so long. It’s a special project that’s dear to us. We go from ‘Aston Martin Music’ to the state of ‘Black Boys in America.’ So creatively, each song you hear from Love Thy Brother represents the struggle.
I poured my blood, sweat and tears into each of these songs but they didn’t make my first 3 albums. But each song was dear to me in their own special way and I wanted the world to hear these songs out of love for all of my fans. I just wanted to give something back to all the fans that have supported throughout the years. This mixtape is for you… the fans.”
