Springsteen in Baltimore
By Kaitlin Freeman
The Boss, Bruce Springsteen, rock legend in the category with greats such as The Rolling Stones, is coming to Baltimore, Maryland on November 20th. Performing at the 1st Mariner Arena, fans from across the county undoubtedly have their ticket stubs and are eagerly awaiting the show.
To Baltimore’s surprise, this is only Springsteen’s second show in Maryland; the first was over thirty years ago at the Civic Center in 1973. Luckily for Baltimore residents Springsteen has just recently added the 1st Mariner Arena to the list as one of the last stops on his 31 date tour.
“I love Springsteen! My parents are huge fans so I’ve listened to his music all my life,” claims Loyola junior, Molly Mita, when asked her opinion on the upcoming Bruce Springsteen concert this month.
“I already have tickets for his show back home, that’s really exciting he’s coming to Baltimore, though, if I wasn’t going in Philadelphia I would probably buy tickets for the 1st Mariner Arena show. I absolutely love Springsteen,” reports another anxiously awaiting Loyola junior.
Despite Springsteen’s scheduled show on Monday, November 2nd at the Verizon Center in Washington D.C., it is widely anticipated to be a fully packed venue here in Baltimore for his November 20th concert date. The 1st Mariner Arena may be one of the smaller venues on Springsteen’s itinerary for his tour, seating around 13,000 to 15,000; fans will not slack on support and enthusiasm for one of music’s rock legends, however.
Tickets are ranging from $113 to an unbelievable $2000 for his November 20th show in Baltimore, MD.
“I don’t see myself ever paying two grand for a concert, but I would definitely spend a couple hundred for a ticket if the seats were really good. It’s Springsteen, he’s worth it,” admits Loyola junior Kim Krzacezk. Overall, it seems Springsteen is causing a lot of good waves in Baltimore this upcoming month, leaving local fans anxiously awaiting his second arrival that has been long overdue.
The Boss Was Born to Run
By Molly Mita
Bruce Springsteen is scheduled to come to Baltimore on Friday, November 20, 2009. At the age of 60, Bruce is still living up to his nickname, The Boss. After doing five concerts at Giants Stadium and four in Philadelphia, Bruce has put on shows for many Loyola students that have made the trip to see the legend in concert.
"I saw him at Giants Stadium, it was by far the best concert I have ever been to," said Bridget Fitzgerald a Loyola junior and New York native. Bruce attracts a crowd from every generation. "He's the same age as my dad and I could never imagine my dad having the stamina Bruce does when he is on stage," said Kristen Ricigliano, also a junior at Loyola. Bruce is definitely a crowd pleaser. His show that is scheduled in Baltimore is going to be held at the First Mariner Arena. Tickets are going for as low as twenty-nine dollars.
After attending Bruce's concert in Philadelphia I strongly suggest buying tickets before they sell out. Bruce makes sure to please his crowd and give them their money's worth. Playing for three hours without stopping, Bruce never left his fans waiting for him. In fact, he barely finished a sip of water before he was counting down with the drummer. I have never seen a better show in my life.
Bruce promises to sing favorites from Born To Run when he graces Baltimore with his presence this November. It will be a show you don't want to miss.
