Spreading Sexual Diversity Awareness around Campus

Loyola students came together in acceptance and support of the gay and lesbian population on campus with events for Sexual Diversity Awareness Week, by sharing stories, opinions, and support. The events were celebrated by all types of students and faculty in celebration to spread awareness of sexual diversity.

"Letters from Andalusia" Exhibit Featured at LNDL
The American Novelist Flannery O’Connor is not only recognized by the name of one of Loyola’s dormitories, but she is now featured in a new two-month exhibit at the Loyola Notre Dame Library.
The exhibit, which is called “Letters from Andalusia,” will be a display of published works of Flannery O’Connor. The chosen works will highlight her “unique relationship with the College of Notre Dame of Maryland,” as the event’s website states. The website further explains that O’Connor was a “treasured correspondent” of Notre Dame’s Maura Eichner, an English professor and poet who was a correspondent of O’Connor’s through 1963 and early 1964.

Explore the National Aquarium

Wandering through the canopy of trees you hear exotic birds chirping and the steady flow of a stream. You could be exploring the rainforest of the Amazon, or even Brazil. But, alas, you are in the heart of Baltimore’s Inner Harbor at the impressive and colorful National Aquarium.
The aquarium is home to more than 16,000 specimens from more than 660 aquatic species. It features an assortment of must-see exhibits for animal lovers, including “Jellies Invasion: Oceans Out of Balance”, “Our Ocean Planet: The New Dolphin Show”, 4-D Immersion Theater, and “Animal Planet Australia: Wild Extremes”.
