Sherwood Gardens
Sure, Baltimore can be your city playground, but when the weather starts becoming warm, all you want to do is laze around outside. But where can you do that?
When springtime rolls around, Sherwood Gardens is bustling with students, locals, and a gorgeous array of colorful flowers. Known to most as the Tulip Gardens, this park is tucked away in the Guilford neighborhood, just a couple blocks from Loyola. When weather permits, the lawn is sprinkled with students studying, playing catch, or catching up on their tans. Families bring the children to run around on the grass, and people bring their dogs here for a nice scenic walk. It is easy to spend a whole day at the Gardens – there is no admission fee, and no designated opening and closing hours. The tulip blooms peak around the last week in April to the beginning of May, so don’t forget to swing by for a glimpse of the tulip garden at its best.
Relax with a book, bring a Frisbee and a couple of friends, or stroll around and simply admire the tulips.
The tulip gardens are located at the intersection of Stratford road and Greenway.
