A Museum of News

On Friday April 16, a few of my beat team members and I went to the Newseum in Washington, D.C. It was unlike any other museum I had ever been to before. It was a really interesting museum. Upon entering the museum we were directed to start from the concourse level then to take the elevator to the sixth floor then to work our way down. There were news articles and artifacts  from all periods of history dating from 100 years back to present day.

Frank Sesno Lecture

Last Thursday, Loyola students and faculty attended the Muriel and Clarence J. Caulfield Memorial Lecture in McGuire Hall, a lecture supported by the communications department that brings journalists and professionals in the communications field to Loyola. This year the annual lecture was given by Frank Sesno, an award-winning journalist who is currently the “host and creator of PlanetForward, a groundbreaking Web-to-television show seen on PBS.” He also teaches a variety of journalism courses and is the director of the School of Media and Public Affairs at George Washington University in Washington D.C.
